About ALS ONE Knights
When Kevin Gosnell, Founder of ALS Knights (www.ALSKnights.org), ALS ONE (www.ALSONE.org) and Founder of T&K Asphalt Services, Inc., was diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) in spring 2015, his world was abruptly turned upside down, and life as he knew it was changed forever. He was given his diagnosis in a room with four white walls, an empty table and two chairs. There were no support materials. There was no treatment. As a successful business creator and mentor, he immediately put his CEO leadership skills to work and knew that progress could be expedited through teamwork. He began by forming the ALS Knights - uniting friends and family of those touched by ALS to create an army of people committed to raising funds and providing support for those impacted by ALS.
Simultaneously, Kevin set out on a mission to convene the best minds in the ALS community with the goal of a partnership to accelerate progress toward providing better care and finding a cure with the launch of ALS ONE. ALS ONE is an unprecedented partnership of many of the top neurologists and care specialists in the world, including the University of Massachusetts Medical School (UMMS), Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), ALS Therapy Development Institute, Compassionate Care ALS (CCALS), the ALS Association and the ALS Finding a Cure Foundation. Through ALS ONE, these institutions are leveraging their strengths to expedite progress toward finding a treatment within the next four years. As the science plan is milestone driven and will require significant funding, ALS ONE will simultaneously work to improve the care model for persons living with ALS and their families.
If you are in any way connected to ALS, we ask that you join us and help our mission by becoming an ALS Knight and helping to raise awareness and critically needed funds for ALS ONE. As a knight you will be called on when needed to support any ALS activities until a cure is found!
“One thing that rings true is that there are no real treatment options. I am working to find a path that can help ALS. Only God knows the productive time I have left so I want to do the most I can as quickly as I can! I was blessed with a positive mental attitude. I believe God gave this disease to me so that I can help find a treatment for this awful disease and I will do all that I can to make that happen.” Kevin Gosnell
